You can browse and view shift listings without an account. However, you must create an account to post shifts or view contact information. This helps reduce spam and protects users.
Is posting a shift free?
Yes. Posting a shift is free.
How does OD Coverage make money?
OD Coverage is primarily supported through voluntary contributions that help cover server costs, development, maintenance, and platform operations.

What does boosting a listing do?
Boosting moves your listing higher in search results, increasing visibility and the likelihood it gets filled faster.
Can I edit or delete my shift?
Yes. You can manage your listings in the My Shifts page. You can edit, mark as filled, boost, or delete your shifts at any time.

What happens after I post a shift?
Your listing becomes visible to other users. Interested optometrists can view your contact information and reach out directly based on your preferred contact method.
Can I post multiple shifts at once?
Yes. You can create and manage multiple shift listings through your account.
How long do listings stay active?
Listings remain active until they are marked as filled, manually removed, or become outdated based on the shift date.
Can I repost or extend a shift?
Yes. You can create a new listing for additional dates or repost a shift if it has not been filled.
What if I don’t get any responses?
You can improve visibility by:
- Adding clear details, including rate, location, and notes
- Posting earlier
- Boosting your listing when available
Who pays the providers?
The practice pays the optometrist directly.
OD Coverage does not process, facilitate, or handle payments between users. All compensation terms, payment methods, and timing are arranged directly between the practice and the provider.

Does OD Coverage sell my information?
No. OD Coverage does not sell your personal information. Information provided through the platform is used to operate and improve the service, support account functionality, and help facilitate listings and user communications as described in our Privacy Policy.

No. OD Coverage does not verify licenses, credentials, or qualifications of any user.

How do I know if a provider or practice is legitimate?
OD Coverage does not verify users. We recommend independently verifying credentials, licenses, and details before agreeing to any shift.

OD Coverage does not mediate or resolve disputes between users.

Is OD Coverage responsible for the quality of providers or practices?
No. OD Coverage is a platform only. We do not verify, supervise, or guarantee any user, provider, or practice. Users are responsible for their own due diligence.

If a provider does not show up, it is the responsibility of the practice and provider to resolve the situation directly. We recommend confirming details in advance and maintaining clear communication prior to the shift.

Who handles malpractice?
Each provider is responsible for their own malpractice coverage.
OD Coverage does not provide malpractice insurance and is not responsible for any clinical care, treatment, or outcomes. Practices and providers should ensure appropriate coverage and agreements are in place before the shift.

OD Coverage does not employ providers or practices.
All arrangements made through the platform are directly between the practice and the optometrist. OD Coverage does not classify workers, manage employment relationships, or act as an employer, staffing agency, or contractor.
It is the responsibility of both parties to determine the appropriate working relationship, such as independent contractor vs. employee, and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
